I found this terrific hosted service called Active Board and so I am putting it through its paces. With some of these things you realize right away that they aren't really going to be very good but this right off the bat has gotten so much of it right. I can see no reason to not go with this (I say that now having only spent about 30 minutes with it) except for the one feature I know my members use: "Show Latest Posts Since Last Visit". I will have to look into whether there is some viewing preference that might accomplish something like that.

This is a QUICK REPLY! Looking into Active Boards again, just in case I have to abandon IPB ... not something I want to do, really, but they may not be able to solve the problems.
